Custom Post Types

The Custom Post Types section lets you customise the URL permalink slugs and WordPress dashboard menu labels for each of Obsequy’s built-in custom post types.

ℹ️ After changing any permalink slug, go to Settings → Permalinks and open the page (no save needed) to flush WordPress’s permalink cache. Failure to do so will cause 404 errors.

ℹ️ A slug identical to an existing page slug will cause WordPress to display the custom post type as blog posts rather than using its own template — choose unique slugs.

Obituary

Setting Description
Permalink Slug URL slug for individual obituary posts.
Menu Name Dashboard sidebar label for the Obituary post type.
All Posts Title Dashboard label for “All Obituaries”.
Categories Title Dashboard label for the Obituary categories taxonomy.
Category Permalink Slug URL slug for obituary category archive pages.
Disable Archive Page Disables the default WordPress archive page for obituaries. Default: Unchecked.

Service

Setting Description
Permalink Slug URL slug for individual service posts.
Menu Name Dashboard sidebar label for the Service post type.
All Posts Title Dashboard label for “All Services”.
Categories Title Dashboard label for Service categories.
Category Permalink Slug URL slug for service category pages.
Disable Archive Page Disables the default WordPress archive page for services.

Team

Setting Description
Permalink Slug URL slug for individual team member posts.
Menu Name Dashboard sidebar label for the Team post type.
All Posts Title Dashboard label for “All Team Members”.
Categories Title Dashboard label for Team categories.
Category Permalink Slug URL slug for team category pages.
Disable Archive Page Disables the default WordPress archive page for team posts.

Testimonial
