Working with the NativeChurch Demo

The NativeChurch Elementor demo is a complete site built with Elementor. Every page was designed visually and can be edited without touching code. This section covers the most common editing tasks for a church site.

Editing the Homepage

  • Go to Pages → Home (or whichever page is set as your front page) → Edit with Elementor.
  • Click the hero/slider section to edit the background image, heading text, and button.
  • Click any text element to edit it directly in the editor panel on the left.
  • To replace a section background image: click the section → Style tab → Background → Image → upload or choose from media library.
  • To change hero/banner text: click the Heading widget → Content tab → edit the Title field.
  • Click Update when done.

Changing Colours Site-Wide

  • Go to Elementor → Site Settings → Global Colours.
  • Click the colour swatch next to Primary, Secondary, Text, or Accent.
  • Pick your new colour using the colour picker or enter a hex code.
  • Click Save Changes. Changes apply site-wide immediately.
  • For elements with hardcoded colours (not using global slots), use Site Settings → Custom CSS to override.

Changing Fonts Site-Wide

  • Go to Elementor → Site Settings → Global Fonts.
  • Click the edit icon next to Primary (body font) or Secondary (heading font).
  • Change the font family using the typography picker — choose from Google Fonts or system fonts.
  • Adjust size, weight, and line height as needed.
  • Click Save Changes. All elements using that global font slot update instantly.

Editing the Contact Form

  • Find the page with the contact form (typically the Contact page) → Edit with Elementor.
  • Click the Form widget to select it.
  • In the Content tab → Form Fields: click any field to edit its label, placeholder, or type. Use the + Add Item button to add new fields.
  • In the Content tab → Actions After Submit: configure Email notification settings. Enter your email address in the “To” field.
  • In the Email action settings, edit the Subject and Message template using dynamic tags (use {field_label} tokens).
  • Click Update to save.

Editing Sermons / Events / Posts

  • Sermon and event content is managed from the WordPress dashboard (not Elementor) — go to Sermons or Events in the sidebar and add/edit posts there.
  • The Elementor template controls how they are displayed — you only need to edit the template if you want to change the layout.
  • To edit how sermons are listed: find the page using the Posts widget → Edit with Elementor → click the Posts widget → configure query, layout, and columns.
  • To edit how a single sermon looks: go to Elementor → Theme Builder → Single and edit the single post template.

Adding a New Page

  • Go to Pages → Add New in the WordPress dashboard.
  • Give the page a title, then click Edit with Elementor.
  • Start from scratch or click the folder icon in the top bar to import a pre-built page template from the Template Library.
  • Build your layout using sections, columns, and widgets.
  • Before publishing, set the correct Elementor Page Settings: go to hamburger menu (☰) → Page Settings → set Page Layout to Elementor Canvas (no header/footer) or Elementor Full Width, or leave as Default to use the Theme Builder header/footer.

Using the Template Library

  • Open any page in Elementor and click the folder icon (Add Template) in the top bar.
  • The library shows Pages (full page layouts) and Blocks (individual sections).
  • Use the search bar and category filters to find a relevant layout.
  • Click Insert to add it to your current page. All demo templates are fully editable after insertion.
  • To save your own section as a reusable template: right-click the section handle → Save as Template. Name it and click Save. It then appears under My Templates in the library.
