The Import/Export section lets you save your complete Theme Options configuration and restore it later — either on the same site or on a new installation.
Exporting Settings
- Click the Export button in the Import/Export panel.
- Your current Theme Options configuration is saved as a downloadable data file.
- Store this file securely — it contains all your theme customisation.
Importing Settings
- Click Import and select your previously exported settings file, or paste the exported settings string.
- Click Import/Restore to apply the settings.
- The page will reload with all Theme Options updated to the imported values.
When to Use Import/Export

| Pre-Change Backup | Export before making major changes. If anything goes wrong, restore the original configuration in seconds. |
| Staging to Production | Configure theme settings on a staging site, then export and import them to the live site for an exact match. |
| Multi-Site Setup | Export from a fully configured site and import on other Gaea installations as a starting baseline. |
Note: Import/Export only covers Theme Options settings — not content, media, plugins, or widgets. For full site migration use a backup plugin such as UpdraftPlus.
Note: After importing on a new environment, review all settings — image paths and API keys may need updating.
