Categories

Categories are the broadest organisational grouping for your sermons. Use them to separate high-level themes or service types — for example: Sunday Sermons, Midweek Teachings, or Youth Services.

Managing Categories

Go to iSermons → Categories. The screen is split into two areas: an Add New Category form on the left, and the list of existing categories on the right.

  • Name – The display name shown on your website.
  • Slug – The URL-friendly version of the name, auto-generated but editable.
  • Parent Category – If the Hierarchical option is enabled in Settings, you can nest categories under a parent category.
  • Description – A short description displayed on the category archive page.
  • Term Image – Upload an image to represent this category in grid and card layouts. For best results, use a square image at least 400×400 pixels.

To edit an existing category, hover over its name in the table and click Edit. To delete it, click Delete — note that deleting a category does not delete the sermons assigned to it.

Enabling & Configuring Categories

Categories must be enabled under iSermons → Settings → General. From there you can also set whether categories are hierarchical, whether they appear in sermon filters, and whether a Categories column is shown in the All Sermons list.
