Permalink Structure

The Permalink Structure settings let you customise the URL slugs used for sermon posts and each taxonomy archive. Go to iSermons → Settings → Permalinks to configure these.

Available Permalink Options

  • Sermon Posts – Base slug for individual sermon URLs. Default: imi_sermon. Example result: yoursite.com/imi_sermon/sermon-title/
  • Sermon Category Permalink – Slug for category archive pages. Default: imi_sermon-category
  • Sermon Series Permalink – Slug for series archive pages. Default: imi_sermon-series
  • Sermon Books Permalink – Slug for books archive pages. Default: imi_sermon-books
  • Sermon Topics Permalink – Slug for topics archive pages. Default: imi_sermon-topics
  • Sermon Preachers Permalink – Slug for preachers archive pages. Default: imi_sermon-preachers

How to Change a Permalink

  1. Go to iSermons → Settings → Permalinks.
  2. Enter your desired slug in the relevant field (for example, change imi_sermon to sermons).
  3. Click Save Changes.
  4. Go to WordPress Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes there too — even without changing anything. This flushes the WordPress URL rewrite rules so your new slugs take effect immediately.

Important: If you skip step 4, your new URLs will return 404 errors. Always flush rewrite rules after changing any slug. If 404 errors persist after flushing, try deactivating and reactivating the iSermons plugin.
