The General tab controls plugin-wide behaviour including which taxonomies are active, global feature toggles, and display preferences. Go to iSermons → Settings → General.
Default Color
Use the colour picker to set the primary accent colour used throughout the iSermons frontend — player controls, buttons, links, and highlighted elements. Enter a hex code or pick a colour visually.
Taxonomy Configuration
Each of the five taxonomies (Categories, Series, Books, Topics, Preachers) has the following checkboxes:
- Enable [Taxonomy] – Check to activate this taxonomy. When unchecked, the admin menu item and all frontend references are hidden.
- Hierarchical – Allow parent/child nesting of terms (like WordPress categories). Uncheck for flat, tag-style behaviour.
- Hierarchical for Filters – Render this taxonomy’s filter as a nested hierarchy in the sermon search/filter widget.
- Show Admin Column – Add a column for this taxonomy in the All Sermons list table for quick reference.
Feature Toggles
- Sermon Archive – Enable or disable the WordPress post-type archive for sermons at
yoursite.com/imi_sermon/. - Taxonomy RSS Links – Show or hide the RSS subscribe links on sermon list/grid layouts.
- Audio Download – Enable to display a download button for sermon audio files. Disable for streaming-only mode.
- Sermon Views Tracking – Automatically count and record how many times each sermon detail page is viewed.
- Star Rating – Allow visitors to submit a star rating for sermons. Ratings are averaged and displayed per sermon.
Display Date
- Preached – Shows the custom Date Preached field from the sermon editor — the actual delivery date.
- Published – Shows the WordPress post published date — the date the sermon was added to the website.
