Calendar Options

The Calendar Options section configures the interactive event calendar that can be embedded on any page using the [calendar] shortcode. These settings affect the calendar’s appearance, behaviour, and any external calendar integrations.

Note: Calendar Options only take effect when the Events feature is enabled under Theme Options > Events.

Layout & Display

Setting Description
Calendar Header View Choose the visual style of the calendar header. Two layout options are provided — select the one that best fits your site design.
Limit of Events Per Day Sets the maximum number of events shown within a single day cell on the monthly view. Additional events are accessible via a small popover. Default: 4.

Localisation (Month & Day Names)

To display the calendar in a different language, enter translated month and day names in the fields below. Values should be comma-separated.

Setting Description
Month Names (Full) Comma-separated full month names. Default: January, February, March … December
Month Names (Short) Comma-separated abbreviated month names. Default: Jan, Feb, Mar … Dec
Day Names (Full) Comma-separated full day names. Default: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday … Saturday
Day Names (Short) Comma-separated abbreviated day names. Default: Sun, Mon, Tue … Sat
Button: Today Translate the ‘Today’ button label shown in the calendar navigation.
Button: Month Translate the ‘Month’ view button label.
Button: Week Translate the ‘Week’ view button label.
Button: Day Translate the ‘Day’ view button label.

Google Calendar Integration

Setting Description
Show WP Events Toggle whether events created in WordPress (via the built-in Events post type) appear in the calendar. Enabled by default.
Google Calendar API Key Enter your Google Calendar API key to pull in events from an external Google Calendar. Instructions for obtaining an API key are linked in the settings panel.
Google Calendar ID Enter the ID of the Google Calendar to import. Found in Google Calendar settings under ‘Integrate calendar’. You can also specify per-calendar IDs using the calendar shortcode.

Event Colors

Setting Description
Default Event Color Pick a colour for regular, one-time events displayed on the calendar.
Recurring Event Color Pick a distinct colour for recurring events so visitors can visually distinguish them from single-occurrence events.

Note: To embed the calendar on a page, use the [calendar] shortcode. The calendar supports Month, Week, and Day views which visitors can switch between using the header buttons.
