Do users need to create an account to submit prayers?
No.
Visitors can submit prayer requests without creating a WordPress account or logging in.
They only need to provide:
- Their name (unless submitting anonymously)
- Their email address
- Their prayer request
Can users submit prayers anonymously?
Yes.
If enabled in:
Prayers → Settings → General → Allow anonymous submissions
Users can choose to hide their name from the public prayer list.
Administrators can still see the submitter’s details privately.
Can I moderate prayers before they appear on the website?
Yes.
You can choose to save new prayers as pending review instead of publishing them immediately.
This option is available in:
Prayers → Settings → General → New prayer status
When enabled:
- Prayers require admin approval
- Submitters still see a success message
- Admins receive a notification (if enabled)
How does the “I prayed for this” button work?
The button allows visitors to show support for a prayer.
- Each visitor can click it once per prayer per browser session
- No login is required
- The prayer count updates instantly
- The system does not track IP addresses
This keeps interactions simple and privacy-friendly.
Can users edit their submitted prayers?
No.
Users can:
- View their submitted prayers (via the dashboard)
- Delete their prayers (if enabled)
Editing existing prayers is not supported at this time.
How do users access their Prayer Dashboard?
Users access the dashboard through an email-based login system.
They:
- Enter their email address on the dashboard page
- Receive a magic login link
- Click the link to view their prayers
No passwords or accounts are required.
Can users unsubscribe from emails?
Yes.
All subscription-related emails include an unsubscribe link.
When clicked:
- The user is unsubscribed immediately
- No login is required
- They stop receiving further notifications or digests
What emails does iPray send?
Depending on your settings, iPray may send emails for:
- Prayer submission confirmation
- Someone prayed for your request
- New comments on a prayer
- Dashboard login link
- New prayer notifications for subscribers
- Weekly prayer digest
All emails use the same customizable email template.
Does iPray store sensitive personal data?
iPray stores only the information needed to provide its features, such as:
