Building a Seat Map

A Seat Map is a reusable venue layout stored globally in your library. Once created, it can be assigned to any number of events.

Creating a New Seat Map

  1. Navigate to Eventer → Seat Maps in the WordPress admin menu.
  2. Click Add New Seat Map.
  3. Give the map a descriptive name (e.g. “Main Theatre — 300 seats”).
  4. Use the visual builder to add rows and configure each row:
    • Row Label — the letter or label shown on the map (A, B, C…).
    • Number of Seats — how many seats in the row.
    • Seat Naming — numeric prefix and starting number.
  5. Create Zones to group seats by price tier (e.g. VIP, Standard, Balcony):
    • Assign a colour to each zone for clear visual differentiation.
    • Each zone can be mapped to a specific Ticket Type when the map is assigned to an event.
  6. Click Save Map.

Built-in Map Templates

Eventer ships several built-in map templates (theatre rows, tables, zones) that you can use as a starting point and customise to fit your venue.

Editing an Existing Map

Go to Eventer → Seat Maps, click the map name, make changes, and save. Changes take effect on all future bookings; already-booked seats are not affected.

Note: Deleting a seat map that is currently assigned to a published event will remove seat selection from that event’s booking form. Always unassign before deleting.
