After a successful booking on a virtual event, Eventer delivers the join link to the attendee through two channels.
Confirmation Email
The join link is included in the ticket confirmation email. Use the {virtual_link} shortcode in your email template to control exactly where the link appears:
- Go to Eventer → Settings → Emails.
- Edit your ticket confirmation template.
- Insert
{virtual_link}at the desired position in the email body. - Save the template.
Frontend Attendee Dashboard
Logged-in attendees can also access the join link from their booking page in the Eventer frontend dashboard. A “Join Event” button appears on the booking detail once the event is approaching or live.
Unique Link Security
When Unique link mode is enabled, each join URL contains:
- The event ID and occurrence key (date + time slot).
- A registration token tied to the specific booking.
- An expiry timestamp (30 days after the event).
- An HMAC-SHA256 signature — the link is rejected if any parameter is tampered with.
This ensures only the ticket holder can access the link, and only within the valid window.
Troubleshooting
- Join link not appearing in email — Check that
{virtual_link}is present in your email template and that the event is marked as Virtual. - Zoom meeting not created — Verify your Zoom credentials are saved and the app is activated in the Zoom Marketplace. Check the Eventer error log for API responses.
- Link shows “expired” — The default expiry is 30 days post-event. Contact your site admin to re-issue access if needed.
